Worcester Memorial Auditorium

The Worcester Memorial Auditorium was built in 1933 as a World War I memorial that would serve as a multi-purpose hall. The building is built with a Classical Revival mixed with Art Deco ornamentation architectural style. The murals inside were created by Leon Kroll and were completed between 1938 and 1941. The main theatre spans across 116 feet and the building also has a smaller theatre known as the "Little Theater". The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The structure has sat empty for many years, with many preservation groups fighting to restore and re-use the stunning building. Due to its historical relevance and the town's recognition of its importance, the building is alarmed with immediate response from the police station a block away.
