Nassau County Sanatorium
The Nassau County Sanatorium was built in the early 1930's to serve Nassau County Long Island as a tuberculosis sanatorium. The structure was built with a Neo-Georgian architecture style. The hospital closed in the 1960's after the outbreak of TB was brought under control. After its closure, the campus was used for mixed-use proposes. A drug rehabilitation facility was established in 1979, along with a branch of the Cornell Cooperative Extension. The property was purchased by Charles Wang in 1999 who began to completely redevelop the property. The main building was demolished completely in 2016.
