Rolling Hills State School
A more modern facility, the Rolling Hills State School opened in 1930 to help the ongoing overcrowding issue at NYC and Long Island hospitals. The facility spanned cross 770 acres and housed about 51 buildings. The campus is set up to have two sides with a large administration building in the middle. It is apparent that one side of the facility closed down very early on, likely in the 1990's. The other side of the hospital was marked as officially closing in 2014. Although listed as closed, operations still go on at the site in various buildings that are more than 50% abandoned.
