The Grande Resort
Initially established as a country club in 1901, this hotel resort soon became a large attraction in the area. It officially opened as a resort in 1903. Following the architecture of the area, new wings were added to the resort in the mission revival style. Through the 1950's and 1960's, the resort continued to expand, adding new features and new buildings. The resort featured an 18 hole golf course, 9 hole golf course, ski slope, indoor/outdoor pool, rafting, and much more. As gran resorts like these feel into hard times, the financial burden of operations became too much. The resort closed its doors in July of 2009 after the ownership failing to pay taxes on the property.
