Scranton Lace Company
The Scranton Lace Company was established in 1890 in Scranton, PA. It was incorporated in June of 1897 and standardized in 1916. The company was the first and largest producer of Nottingham Lace in the United States during its entire lifecycle in operation. In the 1940's, the company had teamed up with other companies to help manufacture parachutes and camouflage for the WWII. The company did very well through the 1950's, but it was after that when financial troubles hit. The facility was forced to shut down in 2002 and has remained abandoned since. As of 2018, demolition has begun on the building.
