Have you ever done something so ridiculous, that telling the truth sounds more like a lie than actually lying? Bums, razor wire, bank robbers, midnight trips to Walmart. Not necessarily in that order. This story is like a story the protagonist of a coming of age film would sarcastically tell their parent to get them not to worry, while simultaneous telling the truth. "Of course I'm borrowing this odd assortment of items to go slay a monster MOM, what else would I be doing with them!" she says as she rolls her eyes and storms out the door. In the end, the monster is dead, and mom is angry but relieved. I guess that's sort of what happened here, but there was no monster. Just an idea in the back of my head that had been pestering me for a year or two that I needed a resolution to. When I think I've found a secret somewhere, I always want to dig deeper and push further. This one, however, took a while to convince anyone to join me on, but I am glad it all worked out in the end. Stepping into these hallways was like going back in a time machine, and definitely made for a great story to tell when everyone is drinking around a campfire.
